Proof and Summary

Who are you?  We're a locally based family owned  Home Care Organization.   We're licensed by the California State Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau as a non-medical, in-home care agency.   We're insured and bonded.  Our caregivers are vetted with a California Department of Justice background check with electronic fingerprinting technology.  Our caregivers are our employees, meaning that we interview, hire, train and supervise them.  We exist to give you peace of mind.  Cambridge Dictionary Online defines peace of mind: "a feeling of calm or not being worried."  As a family caregiver, your eldercare is a huge responsibility!  We can help to ease your stress and anxiety.  Our caregivers provide services for those needing help with Activities for Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities for Daily Living (IADLs) - learn more about ADLs and IADLs here - which comprise these main areas or a combination thereof: Companionship, Homemaking and Personal Care.

What can you do for me?  When your elder loved one presents indications that they are slowing down and will need help with ADLs and IADLs, that can present uneasiness, anxiety and stress for your elder loved one and the whole family.  You might notice that your elder loved one has slowed down due to an injury, the natural aging process, hospitalization, illness or medical condition.  It may appear that it is challenging for them to perform certain tasks required for daily living.  They may need assistance yet they prefer to remain independent, in the comfort of their own home.

It's quite a challenging situation.  It can even feel like a minor or major crisis.  We exist to give you peace of mind.  Cambridge Dictionary Online defines peace of mind: "a feeling of calm or not being worried."  Our non-medical, in-home care can give you peace of mind in four key areas.

Companionship

[Companionship - after all, we're social beings] an outside caregiver brings to your home a unique personality and a distinct point of view.   Our caregivers are patient, and kind.  They know how to build rapport and trust with your elder loved one and to draw them out, and into meaningful regular conversation or at times. This lends to new dialogue and camaraderie that your elder loved one can look forward to.  Social discourse  stimulates their mind.   It also could prevent depression.  By having someone to 'break bread' with, it can assist in promoting better appetite and nutrition.  Talking through ideas, memories, current events and goals brings a refreshing outlook and helps the elderly feel a sense of belonging.  This could address any loneliness that the elder could be experiencing.

Avoiding being overwhelmed or burned out

[overwhelmed, juggling] When you begin seeing a gradual or abrupt change in physical and cognitive functioning in your elder loved one, you may begin to feel overwhelmed.  The Family Caregiver Alliance - National Center on Caregiving in an online article on Caregiving cited that "while some people receive care from paid caregivers, most rely on unpaid assistance from families, friends and neighbors."  (research found here: https://www.caregiver.org/caregiving)  Many family caregivers also work full time or part time.  Anxiety can take the form of wondering how they can juggle taking care of their elder loved one and work their job and honor any other family, volunteer or community responsibilities.   Receiving help from our caregivers can do much to ease the stress of the having the responsibility of caring for your elder

Digging further in this first area, helping you avoid feeling overwhelmed can also help you avoid caregiver burnout.

{Tie with this --> Avoiding caregiver burnout}  Think of this - you could be no longer taking on this task of caring for your elder loved one as a lone ranger.  You could be part of a team.  You'd have others to depend on.  Sorta like passing the baton off - for a short stretch of time to someone else who could run their stretch of time who provides quality home care.

You'd be preventing caregiver burnout. National Caregiver Alliance research:

Talk more specifically about the type of peace of mind we can give to clients.  Peace of mind should always be a theme on our website, our media and our message.

this above article talks about peace of mind needs to be part of the customer experience.  Better than word of mouth.

Honoring preference, maintaining independence

Maintain their independence (seems to me like this is number one)

[honoring preferences] The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) did a 2018 survey entitled Home Community Preference - A National Survey of Adults 18+.    It found that nearly 3 in 4 of those age 50 and over "...want to stay in their homes and communities..."  By choosing in-home care, you'd be helping your elder loved with their preference of aging in place - therefore maintaining their independence.  Schedules at home versus at an assisted living facility or nursing home differ.  At home an elder can choose to have their meal or snack at at time of their choosing.  Contrast this with meal times typically being served during a window of time for an assisted living facility or nursing home.  The same for visiting hours.  You don't have to fret thinking, "am I honoring my elder loved one's preference for aging in place?"  Our help is 'in-home'.

Standby safety, preventing falls

[Safety standby]  cite statistics of falls.    According to the American Bone and Health Organization close to one in three elderly 65 and older suffer a fall.  "Most fractures among older adults are caused by falls - (impacting) the spine, hip, pelvis, arm, hand, leg and ankle."   For those elders who fall, even if they suffer no long term injury - they can develop a fear of falling, and therefore limit their activities.  Here is a vicious cycle.  By limiting their activities, in essence, they may not be exercising the very muscles and joints which help keep them from falling.  Treating injuries from elder falls is costly, and the time to heal and rehabilitate can be lengthy.  By having an in-home caregiver present, your elder has another set of eyes and a supportive arm when they move about or walk and this allows an extra layer of protection.

[Affordability] when compared to nursing homes and assisted living facilities

above url: point one: no guilt.  point two: keeping the family together - no restricted visiting hours, convenience of visiting whenever.

Maybe omit: No more multi tasking - speak about the myth of more productivity when multi tasking.

Maybe omit: Michael Hyatt - pro athletes stay still during their time outs, gives a mini respite to their muscles and mind.  Stronger and more focused when they come back.

How are you different?   Another way to think about it is, why should a reader buy from us?

We're personable and non-corporate. (likely, I will omit the next sentence) We can custom tailor a care plan for you and adapt to changing conditions because we can change course nimbly.

OR: We deliver a personalized service.  Our goal is that a client enjoy the highest satisfaction with our service.  That means we continually elicit feedback, add value and adjust our service to make it more and more personalized based on your needs and preferences.  It's service just the the way you like it.  This sets us apart!  More of the 'secret sauce' that is our company:  We also focus on: rapport building, building trust, adhering to the team concept and strong follow through on tasks and communication.

Think through this next line, because you already wrote some ways above.  We focus on: rapport building, building trust, adhering to the team concept and strong follow through on tasks and communication.  You may want to omit the following:  (This is what sets us apart! later, you can write: extra personalized service)  You and your elder loved one are major players on the team.  You help shape the care plan.   When your elder shares their preferences for their day to day activities, past times, the care plan becomes custom.

Story:

DRAFT

v 4-9-20  11a

98 words so far

The Christian Love Home Care story began in April 2014.  Bradley faced having his one year public school Principal contract being renewed - that made it twice over the course of ten years with two school districts.  It was time to switch professions.  Margie worked part time as caregiver for a non-medical in-home care local agency.  Margie radiated a remarkable  joy and satisfaction for her caregiving job.  We talked about starting  our own home care agency.  A seed was planted.   Bradley wanted to put into place systems and procedures that was unique to our company, especially in caregiver training.  The company would be a start up, on a shoe string budget.  Through prayer and God’s lovingkindness Christian Love Home Care sprouted literally from a bedroom computer.   (126 words from start to here).

Likely omit: The ‘home’ office computer work station has since moved five times since (once into a garage). Bradley recognized that the local home care agency market was largely made up of franchises and the rare grass roots family start ups.  A franchise would provide structure and procedures, but the biggest problem they faced is coming up with the initial capital required to purchase a franchise.  In the end, Bradley and Margie decided to go the grass root start up route, on a shoe string budget.

Margie had experience as a caregiver.  Some time as a teen and as a young adult she worked as a caregiver.  Many years later Margie worked for approximately 2.5 years as a non-medical, in-home caregiver, with a local home care agency.  Since our company started, Margie has worked for 5 years as a caregiver for Christian Love Home Care as well as providing part time care for the elderly in a memory care unit of an Assisted Living Facility for almost a year. Bradley's first task was to get trained as a Home Care administrator.  He completed the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH) course: Home Care Manager Certificate Program.  Next, he rolled up his sleeves and learned the skill set of hands-on caregiving.  He worked just over a year of 30+ hours per week at a local Memory Care Assisted Living Facility caring for six to seven residents during his work shifts.  He worked just over two years as a non-medical in-home caregiver for clients (30+ hours per week) at Christian Love Home Care.  More recently, he has worked for six months (25+ hours per week) with a company which serves adults with intellectual disabilities.

Beyond our grass roots beginnings, Christian Love Home Care's  ‘home’ office computer work station has moved five times since (once into a garage).  We've had the privilege of working with a handful of clients and their families.

Here is 89 words, featured in the tutorial Shane from Thrive Themes taught on the About Page:

The FreshBooks story begins back in January 2003, when Mike was running a four-person design agency. When it came to billing clients, Word and Excel were frustrating to use and weren’t built to create professional looking invoices. Then one day something happened that makes every small business owner cringe: he accidentally saved over an old invoice. Knowing there had to be a better way, Mike decided to create it himself. Over the next two weeks, he coded up a solution that became the foundation of what is now FreshBooks.

Freshbooks continued on their story, like a closer look at what they do, and what if we wrote - making an impact:

Home Grown in Toronto

Since these humble beginnings, FreshBooks has moved out of the basement (and then moved 3 more times) and now consists of over 300 employees. More than 24 million people have used FreshBooks to send, receive, print and pay invoices. Today FreshBooks has paying customers in over 160 countries. If you look at just North America, no one except QuickBooks Online has more paying subscribers than FreshBooks, making FreshBooks the #1 cloud accounting solution designed exclusively for small business owners; whether you’re venturing out on your own or have been running your own agency or firm for years.

Shaping the World for Self-Employed Professionals

If you are a service-based business, FreshBooks is designed for you. If you are a designer, a marketing agency, a plumber, an IT professional, a lawyer, an architect, a web professional – if you create value for your customers by applying your time and expertise to other people’s problems – FreshBooks is built specifically for you. We uphold a longstanding tradition of providing extraordinary customer service and building a product that helps save you time because we know you went into business to pursue your passion and serve your customers – not to learn accounting.

Call To Action

Condense and omit most all of this

When he is not working on Christian Love Home Care Bradley loves: Waking up to the stillness and quiet of the morning.  Morning Bible readings and Prayer.  Searching for and making simple budget meal prep, sometimes using the Instant Pot.  Baked salmon sandwiches with lots of mayo and some flaked pepper 'heat'.  Hardbite potato chips, from the great North West.   These potato chips are the bestest - an ingenious blend of subtle saltiness, flavorful potato and made in small batches with that kettle cooked deliciousness.

Hobbies: Simple gardening - wildflowers, some vegetables like zucchini, tomatoes, spinach.

Favorite place on earth: Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center near Felton, CA.  What a great combination of extended family togetherness there, solid Biblical teaching, worship, soaring redwoods, adventure laden trails, the springs, the smores,  and fountain ice cream shop all make for an unforgettable experience.  I especially love seeing our family stroll and enjoy the grounds, and when Margie picks out that something special at the bookstore.

Favorite go to restaurant: Hana Teriyaki, located in the Food 4 Less shopping plaza in Paso Robles.  Their food is awesome, love the music they play there.

Favorite dessert: Margie's lemon bars

Favorite worship music:  I love to hear Margie's piano worship and her singing voice.  It calms my soul.  I also love Faithful Heart - Lenny LeBlanc, Kelly Willard, Paul and Rita Balouche.  Their album: Songs from the Red Letters - tops in my mind.  Other favs: Casting Crowns and Fernando Ortega.

Favorite Bible Verse: Patient in affliction, continuing fast in prayer.  Romans.

Projects Bradley wants to learn: How to make meatballs for meatball sandwiches and spaghetti.

Dreaming to do once Shelter In Place is over:

Worshipping at our home town church - Calvary Chapel of Paso Robles.  Volunteer to work with elders at a local assisted living facility which our church helps with Sunday worship and encouragement.

Get and learn where the best places are to fly a kite with Margie on the Central Coast (my choice) and a new place to get coffee (Margie's choice).

Just put this here, it likely needs to be deleted: In addition to functioning as Christian Love Home Care's administrator, Bradley has worked in hands on caregiving for jobs outside Christian Love Home Care and as a caregiver for Christian Love Home Care for 30+ hours a week for 3.5 years.  Those jobs have included: Memory Care at an Assisted Living Facility and assisting adults with intellectual disabilities.

Christian Love Home Care Co-Founders Margie and Bradley met over 30 years ago as volunteer Bible Teachers to at-risk youth with Youth For Christ.  We became friends for over two years, because we were planning the Bible studies.   A love grew and then we were engaged to be married.  Prior to our marriage, Margie had been volunteering in teaching service for backyard Bible Clubs, Good News Clubs and 5-Day Clubs with Child Evangelism Fellowship.  Bradley completed Child Evangelism Fellowship volunteer training while dating and engaged to Margie.  Once married, we continued serving as volunteers for Child Evangelism Fellowship for over sixteen years.  It is the co-founders' life purpose, to make our lives one of service
